Assam is a beautiful state located in the northeastern part of India, known for its rich natural resources, vibrant culture, and historical significance. Nestled along the fertile Brahmaputra River valley, Assam is famous for its lush tea gardens, diverse wildlife, and warm hospitality. The state plays a vital role in India’s cultural and economic landscape.

Assam is also home to remarkable wildlife and national parks. Kaziranga National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is famous for the one-horned rhinoceros and diverse flora and fauna. Other important wildlife reserves include Manas National Park, Orang National Park, and Nameri National Park, which attract nature lovers and conservationists from around the globe.

Meghalaya, meaning “the Abode of Clouds,” is one of the most beautiful states in Northeast India. Nestled between Assam and Bangladesh, Meghalaya is known for its rolling hills, lush green valleys, mist-covered mountains, and rich cultural heritage. With its pleasant climate and breathtaking natural scenery, the state is a paradise for nature lovers and travelers alike.

Meghalaya is culturally rich and diverse, inhabited mainly by three indigenous tribes—the Khasi, Garo, and Jaintia communities. Each tribe has its own traditions, festivals, language, and way of life. A unique aspect of Meghalaya’s society is its matrilineal system, where lineage and inheritance pass through the mother’s side. Festivals such as Wangala, Shad Suk Mynsiem, and Behdienkhlam reflect the vibrant cultural spirit of the people.

Itinerary

Your journey begins in Guwahati, the gateway to Northeast India. As you step out of the airport or railway station, the air feels different — fresher, quieter, full of promise. You’re soon on the road to Kaziranga National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site famed for its one-horned rhinoceroses.

The drive takes you through the heart of Assam — past tea gardens, sleepy villages, and winding rivers. By afternoon, you arrive at your jungle lodge, nestled on the edge of the park. The evening is yours to relax, perhaps with a nature walk or a quiet moment watching the sunset over the grasslands.

Overnight stay in Kaziranga.

Today we experience a thrilling jeep safari at Kaziranga National Park for wildlife viewing. We will come face to face with one horned rhino’s, elephants, deer’s and rare migratory birds. Later we visit Orchid Park – an orchid house with over 600 species from Northeast India, bamboo and medicinal herb gardens, a cactus house and a handicrafts museum. Further we also explore the lush green Tea Gardens. In the evening we enjoy the spectacular Bihu dance – an indigenous folk dance of Assam.

After breakfast, you begin your journey to Shillong, the capital of Meghalaya. The road climbs into the Khasi Hills, where pine forests and waterfalls begin to appear. By evening, you arrive in Shillong and check into your hotel, the city’s colonial charm offering a gentle contrast to the wildness of Kaziranga.

After breakfast and proceed for full day sightseeing of Shillong. Shillong – The ‘Gleneagle of the East’ lies in the centre of a plateau surrounded by Khasi hills. The city’s own Ward’s Lake is popular for short garden walks & boating. Don Bosco Centre for Indigenous Cultures is a seven stories and three-in-one Institution combining a museum with a research and publication center, for promoting and preserving the rich cultural heritage of North East India -a unique fusion of all the sister states under one roof. Lady Hydari Park is a Japanese style landscaped park endowed with stretches of roses & exquisite flowers.

The Mini zoo adjacent to the park has about 73 birds, 140 reptiles & mammals. One of the largest Golf courses in Asia is an 18-hole Golf Course is charted amidst a surging valley full of thick pine groves & rhododendron trees. Spend the evening in the splendid arena. The State Museum is a display of the lifestyle and heritage of the people of Meghalaya.

Shillong and its surrounding is dotted with splendid waterfalls cascading down deep valleys forming misty sparks as they break the silence of the surroundings. Elephant Falls is a mountain stream gorging down two successive falls set in dells of fern covered rocks. Overnight at Shillong.

After breakfast proceed from Cherrapunjee to Dawki (Indo-Bangladesh Border) and Mawlynnong Village.

Morning drive to Dawki, visit Indo-Bangladesh border and Umngot River (one can enjoy country boat ride here on direct payment basis).

Later on proceed to the Mwallynnong village. Mawlynnong Village located in the East Khasi Hills of Meghalaya, also referred as ‘God’s own garden’ has won the acclaim of being the cleanest village in Asia in 2003.

The village known for its cleanliness is located around 90 kms from Shillong and is a community based eco-tourism initiative. The community has made collective effort to maintain the ambience of a clean village. The village offers picturesque natural beauty, a trek to the living root bridge at a neighbouring village Riwai. The village also offers a sight of natural balancing rock, a strange natural phenomenon of a boulder balancing on another rock.

Overnight at Shillong.

• After Breakfast, visit Shillong to Laitlum Canyons, enjoy breathtaking valley views and indulge in short hikes and photography.

• While going from Laitlum to Mawphlang You willl walk through Sacred Grove whicc is going to be 1 hour guided walk through the sacred forest.

• Post walk, you will return to Shillong.

Highlight of the day: Laitlum Canyons

After Breakfast drive to Guwahati Airport /Station to board your flight/train to your hometown. Holiday Concludes

  • Any transportation which is not mentioned in the itinerary.
  • Expenses caused by factors beyond our control like Rail and Flight Delays| Roadblocks| Vehicle Malfunctions| Political Disturbances etc.
  • Anything not mentioned under “inclusions”.

Domestic Cancellation Policy

  • Once the booking is done- 20% of package cost will be charged as a cancellation fee.
  • 30 days prior to departure- 30% of package cost will be charged as a cancellation fee.
  • 15 days prior to departure- 50% of package cost will be charged as a cancellation fee.
  • 10 days till the departure- 100% of package cost will be charged as a cancellation fee.
  • No Show No Refund.

Payment Policy

  • Payment Policy:
  • 50% of total land package cost shall be paid to initiate a booking if the travel date is more than 30 days from the date of bookings.
  • 50% of total land package cost amount shall be paid before 35 days of the departure date.
  • Any Flight bookings shall be paid 100% in advance.
