About The Trip

Meghalaya, meaning “the Abode of Clouds,” is one of the most beautiful states in Northeast India. Nestled between Assam and Bangladesh, Meghalaya is known for its rolling hills, lush green valleys, mist-covered mountains, and rich cultural heritage. With its pleasant climate and breathtaking natural scenery, the state is a paradise for nature lovers and travelers alike.

One of the most remarkable features of Meghalaya is its abundant rainfall, making it home to some of the wettest places on Earth, including Cherrapunji and Mawsynram. This heavy rainfall has shaped the region’s landscape, creating spectacular waterfalls such as Nohkalikai Falls, Seven Sisters Falls, and Elephant Falls. The state also boasts fascinating limestone caves like Mawsmai, Siju, and Krem Liat Prah, attracting adventure seekers and explorers.

Meghalaya is culturally rich and diverse, inhabited mainly by three indigenous tribes—the Khasi, Garo, and Jaintia communities. Each tribe has its own traditions, festivals, language, and way of life. A unique aspect of Meghalaya’s society is its matrilineal system, where lineage and inheritance pass through the mother’s side. Festivals such as Wangala, Shad Suk Mynsiem, and Behdienkhlam reflect the vibrant cultural spirit of the people.

Itinerary

  • Arrival at Guwahati Airport / Railway Station

  • Drive to Shillong, the “Scotland of the East”

  • En-route stops:

    • Umiam Lake (Barapani) – photography & boating

  • Check-in at hotel in Shillong

  • Evening at leisure or visit Police Bazaar

  • Overnight stay: Shillong

After breakfast, visit Mawlynnong Village the cleanest village in India. This cute and colorful little village is known for its cleanliness. It is situated 90 kms. From Shillong and besides the picturesque village, offers many interesting sights such as the Living Root Bridge and another strange natural phenomenon of a boulder balancing on another rock. Later,visitDawki; it is along the Indo-Bangladesh border. You can enjoy boating in the crystal clear waters of the UmgnotRiver. In the Evening, returnto the Hotel. Stay overnight in Dawki.

Get up early today to enjoy the mesmerizing mornings of Shillong. After early breakfast drive to Cherrapunji, this is the wettest place in the world. 

Later, visitEco Park, Garden of Cave, Nohkalikai Falls, Nohsngithiang Falls (Seven Sisters Falls), Mawsmai Cave, Thangkharang Park. 

Evening, return to Shillong Overnight stay in Shillong

After breakfast check out from hotel and transfer to Guwahati. 

Later as time permits we may take a tour of the Kamakhya Temple, PurvaTirupati Shri Balaji Temple, Navagraha Temple, and Ropeway. 

With everlasting memories transfer to Guwahati airport/railway station for onward journey

  • The rooms & rates are subject to availability at the time of booking/confirmation.
  • Hotel, sightseeing, meals, transfers and flights rate might change without any prior notice until & unless it has been booked/confirmed from your end.
  • The change in dates will attract re-quote.
  • Normal hotel check-in time is from 12:00hrs onwards & check-out time is at 11:00hrs.
  • There will be an additional cost for an entire transfer between 23:00-07:00hrs (if not stated inside the package).
  • It is mandatory for guests to present valid photo identification at the time of check-in.
  • The identification proofs accepted are Driving License, Voter Card, and Passport. Without a valid ID the guest will not be allowed to check-in. Note- PAN Cards will not be accepted as a valid ID card.
  • All transfers and sightseeing are as per the Itinerary/package and in case of Aid conditioned vehicles, it will be switched off in the hills.
  • Holiday With Us and it’s organisers strictly prohibit the utilisation of any Narcotics and Banned Substances during the tours and would not be responsible for any adversities due to the same.
  • All guests must carry a Govt issued Valid ID Card.
  • Holiday With Us will have no responsibility for injuries or the loss/theft of any personal property during the tour.
  • In case of any breakdown or in delay due to the breakdown of the transport in the way, you would have to wait until the transport gets repaired. No backup transport would be provided.
  • Holiday With Us is not responsible for any delay in reaching the destination due to traffic, sightseeing/activities of the day may get cancelled if we don’t reach the destination on time.
  • Trip organiser/coordinator has complete right to change the itinerary as per on the spot condition.
  • Please cooperate with us in keeping the environment clean and safe.
  • Any cost arising due to natural calamities like, landslides, flood,road blockage, political disturbances (strikes), etc. to be borne by the client,which is directly payable on the spot. (Arising cost may be change of hotel / change of cab due to road blockage)
  • Please note that adventure activities are not included in this package. If you want to do any adventure activity you have to pay extra for specific Activities.
  • Any change in flight directly depends upon the airline companies . Changes or cancellation of flights will be the part of the airline . So , Holiday With Us is not responsible for any delay, change or cancellation of flight.
  • All disputes are subject to Noida jurisdiction only.

Payment Policy

  • 25% of total land package cost shall be paid to initiate a booking if the travel date is more than 30 days from the date of bookings.
  • 50% of total land package cost amount shall be paid before 15 days of the departure date.
  • 25% of total land package cost amount before 7 days of the departure date.
  • Any Flight bookings shall be paid 100% in advance.
  • Full payment of package cost is required if the booking date is 7 days before the departure date.
